TRICKS AND TIPS
Zero-Turn Operation Tips
Zero-turn mowers steer with lap bars instead of a wheel. Push both bars forward evenly to move straight, and ease one back to pivot.
Start slow. Practice in an open area until steering inputs feel natural before mowing near beds, trees or fences.
Make gradual turns at the end of each pass instead of sharp pivots — hard pivots on soft turf can tear the grass.
Mow up and down slopes rather than across them, and never mow slopes steeper than 15 degrees.
Keep blade speed high and ground speed moderate for the cleanest cut, and vary your mowing pattern each week to avoid ruts.
