How to Change the Gas on a Cub Cadet Zero-Turn Rider
Gasoline begins to degrade after about 30 days. If your mower has been sitting, draining old fuel is usually the fastest path back to a reliable start.
Work outdoors, away from sparks and open flame. Let the engine cool, then place an approved fuel container under the fuel line.
Close the fuel shut-off valve, clamp the line, and disconnect it from the carburetor. Open the valve and let the tank drain fully into the container.
Reconnect the fuel line, secure the clamp and fill the tank with fresh 87-octane unleaded fuel containing no more than 10% ethanol. Add a fuel stabilizer if the mower will sit again.
Start the engine and let it run for several minutes so fresh fuel reaches the carburetor. Dispose of the old fuel at an approved collection site.
